Los Gatos United fields a mix of Academy, Pre-Academy 1, and Pre-Academy 2 girl’s teams. The number of the players participating in an age group determines the number of teams the league will field per age group. Players are assigned to a team based on age and skill level. Highest skilled players are placed on our Academy teams. Each age group practices as a group with different skill level team breakouts.
LGUSL comp league soccer teams practice 2-3 days a week depending on age group. The season spans 10-12 months of the year with games and tournaments on weekends. Professionally licensed coaches lead all of our comp league teams.
Tryouts are held in December for the spring season and May for the fall season. Most players tryout once in the fall and play the full year. Players can participate in just a fall or spring season depending on roster openings. Every player must tryout each year regardless of how many years they have played on their age group team. This helps coaches evaluate incoming players and assess team size and group ability.
