ABBY MEESKE FOUNDATION
In July of this year (2022) we lost a dear member of our soccer community, 14-year-old Los Gatos United player, Abby Meeske. Those who had the privilege of knowing Abby – her teammates, classmates, friends, and extended family – are forever marked by her indomitable joy for life.
Abby played on the 2008 team and cherished the game and friendships that developed over the years. Abby was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in January of 2022. She fought hard and after several courses of chemotherapy she had beat cancer. However, she developed an infection while in remission that her immune system could not overcome.
Abby’s Los Gatos United teammates will always remember her positive spirit, her kind smile and unwavering friendship on and off the pitch. Abby Meeske is an inspiration to all with her energy and love for the game. Her parents, Kyle and Jenny, along with her brother, Logan (2010), will carry her joy and passion for life in their hearts forever.
Abby’s family has started a non-profit organization in her honor. The Abby Meeske Foundation aims to help patients and families impacted by childhood leukemia and fund the most critical, leading and impactful cancer research to improve outcomes of childhood leukemia.
Please consider buying a custom t-shirt in remembrance of Abby. All proceeds from the t-shirts will go to Abby’s Foundation.
