RECREATIONAL / LOS GATOS & THE SOUTH BAY
RECREATIONAL SOCCER
Learn the game. Find your teammates. Look forward to playing.
A place to learn the game, find teammates and look forward to playing. Welcoming soccer for ages 4-17, with options that leave room for the rest of family life.
New players welcome
A starting point for first-time players and returning teammates.
Room for other interests
Soccer can be part of the week without becoming the whole week.
One club community
Families and volunteer coaches help make the team experience.
KEEP THE GAME IN YOUR YEAR.
Looking for your next season? Start with Winter Futsal and Spring Rec 2027, and check each page for registration status and age groups. Fall 2026 is in its final weeks; contact LGU first if your player hopes to join a team immediately.
FALL LEAGUE
Fall 2026 is in its final weeks. U6-U12 teams play locally; U14 and high-school teams play Super Rec into the second week of November. For an immediate start, contact LGU before registering so staff can check whether a suitable team has room.
SPRING LEAGUE
Spring 2027 local soccer in U6, U8, U10 and U12 divisions. Registration is planned to open October 26, 2026. Practices begin the week of March 1 and league games start March 6. Older players in U14-U18 have a separate Teen Soccer program.
WINTER FUTSAL
More soccer through the winter. The next Winter Futsal offering is being finalized, including entry options, ages, coaching, schedule and fees. Registration details will follow once confirmed.
TEEN SOCCER / U14-U18 / SPRING 2027
STILL YOUR GAME. MORE ROOM IN YOUR WEEK.
Play and coaching
A team, weekend matches and optional weekday small-sided play, with an LGU competitive coach.
Competition
Teams compete against other clubs through NorCal Premier’s Super Rec League.
A lighter commitment
For multi-sport athletes, players stepping back from a heavier schedule, and teenagers who simply want to keep playing.
A GOOD PLACE TO BEGIN. A GOOD PLACE TO STAY.
Recreational soccer is for first-time players, returning teammates, multi-sport athletes and players who prefer a lighter commitment. It can be the right long-term home, not simply a stop on the way to competitive soccer.
The focus is the team experience, age-appropriate competition and building confidence while enjoying the game.
Read the recreational soccer family guide for coaching, age groups and what to check before registering.
WHO COACHES THE TEAM?
Younger teams in LGU’s local recreational league are led by parent coaches. Families and volunteer coaches are central to the experience. Coaching and weekly arrangements differ for Teen Soccer and other formats; check the specific program rather than assuming every recreational offering works the same way.
INDIVIDUAL PLAYER OR ORGANIZED TEAM?
You do not need a team to join recreational soccer. Families can register an individual player, while a qualifying group with a volunteer coach can use the season’s team-application route.
A team application does not replace each player’s registration and payment. A family already included in a team application should complete the player form, not create another team application.
See individual and team registration guidance and program questions. Follow the requirements for your season; Teen Soccer and Winter Futsal have their own entry arrangements.
WHAT SHOULD WE CHECK BEFORE REGISTERING?
Check the season’s age groups, practice and game schedule, locations, fees, coaching arrangements and optional training. The Fall, Spring and Teen Soccer pages carry their own details and availability. Winter Futsal’s next offering is still being finalized.
After joining, follow your registration confirmation and club messages for your player’s actual start date, team assignment and schedule.
