RECREATIONAL / THE FAMILY GUIDE
RECREATIONAL SOCCER PROGRAM OVERVIEW
A first team. Another season with friends. A way to keep playing alongside other interests. LGU recreational soccer welcomes players ages 4–17 into an organized, team-centered experience.
A GOOD PLACE TO BEGIN. A GOOD PLACE TO STAY.
Rec soccer is for first-time players, experienced players who prefer a lighter commitment, multi-sport athletes and kids who want to play with friends.
The emphasis is on the team experience, age-appropriate competition and helping players build confidence while enjoying the game. Recreational soccer can be the right long-term home, not simply a stop on the way to something else.
Younger players / U6–U12
Younger teams play in LGU’s local recreational league. Parent coaches are a core part of the experience, helping create the relationships and team connection that make the program work.
Older players / Teen Soccer
New for 2027: Teen Soccer launches in Spring 2027 for U14 and high-school-age players, with one optional weekday small-sided session, weekend matches and an LGU competitive coach. The program is built around enjoying the game and having room for other interests. Matches against other clubs are organized through NorCal Premier’s Super Rec League.

CHOOSE A SEASON, THEN CHECK THE DETAILS
Fall / The biggest rec season
Fall 2026 is in its final weeks. For your next season, explore Winter Futsal or Spring Rec 2027. For an immediate Fall start, contact LGU before registering; staff must confirm that a suitable team has room.
Spring / Another season together
A return to team soccer for players joining for the first time or coming back for another season. Spring Rec 2027 registration is planned to open October 26, 2026. Final registration details will be published here.
Winter / Keep playing indoors
The next Winter Futsal offering is being finalized. Check the program page for confirmed entry options, age groups, schedule, fees and registration status.
BEFORE YOU REGISTER
Check the specific season for age groups, practice and game schedules, locations, fees, coaching arrangements and any optional training. These details vary by program; a Fall team, a Teen Soccer team and a winter futsal group do not all have the same structure.
